The wait of the students who appeared for JEE Main 2019 is over. JEE Main Result for January session has been declared by NTA on 19th January 2019. The result is now available on the official website of NTA.
The students can check their result by logging in to the official website of JEE Main. JEE Main Result willhave sectional scores of all three subjects and a grand total of all the marks obtained.
However, the rank would only be released after the April session examination is over. To score good in April session, candidates should have clear understanding of JEE Main 2019 Syllabus.
How To Get JEE Main Result 2019
In order to know your JEE Main Score, you should follow the below mentioned steps.
- Visit the official site https://jeemain.nic.in.
- On the home page, candidate have to click on the link that reads “JEE (Main) January 2019 NTA Score”.
- You will be directed to another window.
- On the new window fill the Application number, Date of birth and Security pin carefully.
- Click on the “Submit” button when you have filled the complete details.
- Your NTA score will be displayed on the screen.
Number of Students Qualified for JEE Advanced
According to the reports, more than 8 lakh students had appeared for the JEE Main January session. Amongthem 2.5 lakh students are expected to qualify for JEE Advanced. The exact figure is not known yet but as per the estimation, it can be said that approx 2.5 lakh students would qualify for JEE Advanced.
A total of 15 students have scored 100 percentile in the exam and has made a record. Students from various parts of the country are on the list. Apart from these brilliant students, a minimum of 70 percentile was needed to clear the JEE Main 2019. The JEE Main result 2019 has brought laurels to a few students only as the success rate for JEE Main is not very high.
The rank of students will be based on the percentile score and not on such raw scores. However, the raw scores can be used to break the tie in the JEE Main rank. The rank will only be calculated after the April examination because the students have an option to appear for both the examinations and the better scores will be considered. Therefore, until the April session result is out no judgment can be done before.
JEE Main 2019 Cutoff
The JEE Main result criteria are now based on the percentile score. The students who meet the Cutoff or score above are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2019. The Cutoff depends on several factors including the number of applications received, number of seats available, setting up new IITs etc.
The Cutoff for JEE Main is expected to be around 70 percentile but no official statements have been made regarding this. As per the previous year’s Cutoff, it is expected that this year the Cutoff will not vary much but there can be a slight change.
Have a look at the previous year’s Cutoff. It can be seen from the data that last year the total number of students who qualified for JEE Advanced were approximately 2.3 lakhs.

Update: Due to Lok Sabha Election of India, JEE Advanced Exam will be conducted on 27th May 2019.
