According to the Press Information Bureau Of India (PIB),the newly formed National Testing Agency(NTA) will establish 3000 new practice centres to let aspirants of NEET, JEE Main, UGC NET, GPAT and CMAT practice online mock tests free of cost from August 2018 as these tests will be conducted twice a year from 2019. It will also launch a mobile application to help them register and locate these centres near them. These test centres are established to provide opportunity especially for the aspirants from rural areas, so that they have ample practice to acquaint themselves with the computer-based tests.

It has been observed that more than 11.5 lakh students appeared for the exam in offline mode and 2.25 lakh students appeared for the exam in online mode this year. This means that still today maximum candidates are comfortable with the pen and paper mode of examination. Thusto give real computer based exam experience to the students, these centres will function on Saturdays and Sundays and each aspirant will be allotted an hour to practice the online mock tests.Therefore this step of coming up with practice test centres before the examination can prove to be a very wise one.For this purpose,more than 3000 schools and engineering colleges all over India will act as the test centres.
The Union HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar, has also announced that the students will be allowed to appear in both the exams and the best of the two score will be take into account for admission. This will give choice to the students in case they fail to appear in any of the examination due to unwanted circumstances. Also since all the tests will be computer based,aspirants from the rural areas will get ample opportunity to acquaint themselves with the computer based tests. The computer labs of schools and engineering colleges will be identified for this purpose and that can be used free of charge.
It has been declared that these Practice Centres will be active from the 3rd week of August 2018. As according to the press release, the final decision and timetable will be available soon.
According to the reports, many changes will take place for 2019 exams but the pattern and the syllabus will be the same. The expected dates for JEE 2019 ,NEET UG 2019 and UGC NET 2019 will be declared in the first week of September, but the tentative exam dates have been declared. NEET will be conducted in February and May, while JEE Mains will be held in the month of January and April,. The students will also get the chance to select the centre and the date for the exam as suitable to them.
The months in which these examinations will be held are out but their confirmed dates are yet to be declared. NEET (UG) 2019 February exam is expected to be held between 3 February 2019 to 17 February 2019. The online application and registration process will be commenced in October 2018 and the exam results will probably be declared in the first week of March . Whereas, NEET (UG) 2019 May exam will be conducted between 12 May 2019 to 26 May 2019, the application process is expected to commence in the second week of March 2019. The results for this will be declared in the first week of June 2019.
On the other hand, it has been expected that that JEE Main 2019 January Exam will be held between January 1 to January 20, 2019 and its online submission of application forms will commence in the month of September, 2018. It has been reported that JEE Main 2019 exam will be held in 8 different sitting and aspirants will have the option to choose any one.
The exam results are expected to be released in the first week of February 2019.
However, for JEE Mains 2019 April exam, tentative date is from April 7 to April 21 and the application forms of the exam will be available from the second week of February, 2019.
